Pakistan end abroad.

Memorandum No: D-1217-PVI/50. Dated, the Karachi 10th March, 1950.

Passports for Hong Fong

Applications for passports for Hong Kong of all persons, other than those falling in the categories mentioned in para 2 should be referred to the Government of Pakistan before passports are granted.

2. Subject to security screening by the C.I.D., the following categories for persons already holding passports may now have their passports endorsed as valid for Hong Kong without prior reference to the Government of Hong Kong.

a) Bona fide merchants with sufficient means who

wish to join established firms in Hong Kong.

b) Bona fide business men with substantial backing who wish to open up in Hong Kong, of a class better than petty trader.

e) Visitors for short periods who have sufficient

funds to maintain themselves and are in possession of a return ticket, or a deposit therefor, to their port of origin.

d) Artisans who have been guaranteed employment in

Hong Kong and are in possession of a contract which provides for a return passage on completion or if for any purpose the contract is broken.

Applications from persons who do not so far hold a passport to visit Hong Kong should similarly be subject to C.I.D. security screening before they are granted.
