THE TWO JUROR'S LISTS OF HONG KONG
The procedure for compiling the Hong Kong Juror's Lists is laid dom in the Jury Ordinance, 1887, as amended by Ordinances Nos. 3749 of 1947, and 12 of 1948. In this Ordinance:-

(a)
"The Court" means the Supreme Court.

"The Registrar" means the Registrar of the Supreme
Court.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DISABILITIES (Sec. 3 of the Ordinance).
Every person between the ages of 21 and 60 years of sound mind and not afflicted with deafness, blindness, or other such infirmity, who is a good and sufficient person resident within the Colony, and who, to the satisfaction of the Court, has a sufficient knowledge of the English lang- uage, shall be qualified and liable to serve as a juror, subject to the following exceptions:-

Unofficial members of the Executive or Legislative Council.
All persons holding any office or situation of emolument under the Crown except persons whose only paid office is membership of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps or of the Hong Kong Police Reserve or of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force.
Salaried functionaries of foreign governments not carrying on business.
Barristers-at-Law and solicitors in actual practice, and their clerks.
Duly registered doctors, dentists and vets.
Editors of daily newspapers in the Colony and their staffs.
Chemists and druggists actually carrying on business as such.
1) Clergymen of the Church of England, R.C. priests and
Ministers of any other Christian congregation or of any Jewish congregation functioning in the Colony.
Masters of any school other than a vernacular school in the Colony; professors, lecturers, and other academic officers of the University.
Officers on full pay in the naval, military or air Services of His Majesty.

Masters of steamers and local pirates.
(sira) Pilots of passenger or mail or commercial aircraft.
(12). (*) All officers and N.C.0's of the H.K.V.D.C.

commissioned and Warrant officers of the H.K.N.V.S. and such other members of the said Corps or of the said Force as shall have been exempted from jury service by the Governor in Council.
