Flease refer to correspondence ending with your letter to Radford No. и 01906/49, dated the 11th April, about Hong Kong territorial waters.
I now enclose copies of Hong Kong Seoret Saving No. 57 of the 2nd June, and Hong Kong Confidential Saving 610 of 5th June, and the draft of the reply which we want to send to the Governor.
You will remember that we sent the Governor, in our Saving No. 389 of the 18th April, a copy of a chart prepared by the Hydrographer of the Navy showing the territorial waters of Hong Kong.
You will see that the Governor now informs us in his Secret Saving that hitherto the police have confined their patrolling to 'the old square boundary which differs in two important respects from the new sinuous line' on the Hydrographer's Chart.
The 'old square boundary' was that marked on a pre-war chart, which was found after the liberation of Hong Kong. In case you have not got it marked on your chart I enclose a very rough trace. Though crude, this will give you an adequate idea of the old boundary and illustrates the points the Governor makes.
