The attribution of the abandonment of a previsional project for installing thres 71⁄2 kilowatt trammitters to a difference of opinion on policy between the Foreign Office and this Department is also entirely incorrect. There was no difference of opinion. The real reasons for the decision to abandon the project are well known to the Governor. This, however, is a matter on which it would be more appropriate for you to have the Foreign Office's comments, The figure of £750,000 is also, of course, many times greater than any that could ever have been involved in this project.
