If however the Secretary of State should wish to submit this to the Prime Minister, it is most important that this should not be allowed to delay the approval of the draft telegram to the Minister of Defence which ought to be despatched in time to intercept him at Singapore.
As regards the arrangements for the despatch of that telegram, I have arranged with Captain Evershed of the Ministry of Defence (who has a spare copy of the draft telegram) to let him know immediately it has been approved in order that he can send it off.
