It is not possible to meet in full your request for landing craft but in addition to the 6 L.C.A.'s already despatched to you for use of the Commandos a further 4 L.C.M. (7) and 4 L.C.A.'s can be made ready for shipment in fourteen days' time and could arrive Hong Kong latter part October. Owing to shortage of manpower, however, it is not possible to provide crews.

Request early confirmation that this is

acceptable in order that shipping arrangements can be

made.

owned landing craft in the Far East which might be

requisitioned or hired in emergency.
