Personal from 1st Naval Member. When C. A. S. raised question of Hong Kong at recent C.0.S. Meeting I replied on assumption ho was referring to plans for future war. It subsequently occurred to me he had present position in mind.

As you may be considering request on Government loval for Australian participation in defence of Hong Kong in prosant emergency following summary of what R. A. N. could provide subject to Government approval may be useful,

training complement to allow foregoing ships to be fully manned.
