CONCL SIONS
1.
Reinforcements of an infantry brigade and armour
are available in the UNITED KINGDOM to proceed to HONG KONG
including AL at fourteen days notice. The supporting units/are available at twenty-eight days notice.
2.
The despatch of this brigade group will reduce the strategic reserve left in the UNITED KINGDOM to one infantr
brigade.
3.
GHQ FARELF have made plans for the despatch of reinforcements to HONG KONG from MALAYA in emergency.
Thi
can only be done by curtailing operations in MALAYA with a probable deterioration of the situation in consequence.
4.
If
reinforcements have to be sent init call
from MALAYA it will be approximately two months before rein-- forcements can arrive in MALAYA from the UNITED KINGDOM,
5.
Shipping capacity for one battalion is available at the beginning of May and for 2,800 personnel at the beginning of June. If the whole brigade group is to be despatched by the beginning of June special measures will be required to fin
the total shipping capacity necessary.
