passed through Legislative Council without debate. Six minor

amendments (indicated on the copy of the Bill attached) were

made upon my motion at the Committee Stage. Among such amendments

the only amendment of material importance concerned amendment of

the definition of 'Employer' occurring in section 2 to provide

for the inclusion of Professional and Social Organisations. The

amendment resulted from suggestion made at the eleventh hour by

the Chamber of Commerce. Its effect will be to permit of registra-

tion being effected within professional and social organisations

e.g. Solicitors firms and clubs which have substantial hambers in

their employment.
