I did not. There was a report about Wong Nei Cheong
village, that the people of the village were going to
give the Inspector eggs or money to buy eggs, that is,
if I would not wash the houses aut at the general
cleansing.

It was one of the Chinese that came to me and told me
about this, and I went straight out and made enquiries.
They admitted that a man had gone round and wanted us
to do this. I then turned them out and washed the
place out, and informed Inspector Gauld of the Police
at Wanchai,
Witness cautioned not to repeat anything.
