Well now, the question that was put to you before you

went out on to the verandah to have a little quiet meditation was: What was the reason that that $10 was

paid every month by the Fish Lan to the Sanitary people. Now, why did you pay that money. What were you

going to get for it?

We did business in the morning, and the floor was being

washed.

77 20

You?

20779

A.

They came rather in the morning to wash the floors, and

Lau Shau Fun said "his hand came for the payment". "e

were the directors in the 6th moon, and when the floor

was washed Tau Shau Fun said "Make a present of $10",

and so everybody paid it. It was a custom.

And to whom did they make that present ?

20.780

A.

Laul Shau Pun drew it.

And who did he say he was going to pay it to?

I dont know to whom he was going to pay it to. But you say the people came to wash the floor, and Lau Shau Fun said "Pay him $10 and it will he alright". Surely you must have known who the people were. "hey could not he coolies coming out of the street and

getting $10.

Well, it is Lau Shau Pun who knows that. I dont know.

It s Lau Shau Pun's hand that drew it.

20783

But anyhow the money was paid so that the floor should

be washed at a more convenient hur than at your busy

time in the morning. Was that not so ?

A..

Yes, that is the meaning.
