I have discussed with Sir Marston Logan. In view of our recent request to the Governor at Nos. 4 and 7 on 54900/48 below for special monthly reports on Communism in Hong Kong in a new and more elaborate form than the fortnightly reports, which will, presumably, be continued, and which of all the Colonies Hong Kong alone has in the past sent us, it seemed to me to be a little too much to ask Hong Kong to send fortnightly telegraphic summaries as well. All these things take a good deal of preparation, even a telegraphic summary, and Hong Kong is not over- burdened with staff. We agreed that this should be brought up to be considered again when we had seen the first of the monthly reports. Otherwise extract as proposed.
Mr. Paskin and Sir C. Jeffries to see.
