Your telegram No. 247 (sic) Kowloon,

When I took the opportunity, during an informal conversation with Minister for Foreign Affairs on May 17th to raise the question of the Canton outrage (see my telegra No. 402) he retorted by reminding me that the Chinese Government were awaiting a further communication from His Majesty's Government on the subject of Kowloon Walled city. The Minister for Foreign Affairs urged the importange of settling this case as soon as possible,
