You will remember that, at the meeting held here on 27th May, it was agreed that we should seek the Governor of Hong Kong's views on the latest Chinese proposals for the settlement of the Kowloon City dispute

I now attach for Foreign Office concurrence a draft telegram to Hong Kong and also a copy of a letter which we are sending to the Ministry of Defence. I hope you will agree that the telegram correctly represents the conclusions reached at our meeting.
