stated in advice to the Minister of Defence. He did not think there would be any objection to the views of the Governor of Hong Kong being sought on the Chinese proposal, provided that the comments of the British Defence Co-ordination Committee, Far East, were also obtained.
THE COMMITTEE :

(a) nstructed the Secretary to submit their views

to the Minister of Defence;
(b) Instructed the Secretary to seek the comments of the British Defence Co-ordination Committee to the Chinese compromise proposal, subject to the concurrence of the Minister of Defence.
