7. The Kowloon incident, however grave in Canton, had little or no repercussion in Tsingtao. Chinese newspapers carried articles making the usual incorrect and highly exaggerated statements and setting forth programmes for student demonstrations in the shape of parades, slogans etc. etc. As a matter of fact, what actually happened may be summarised as follows : --
