My dear Sidebotham,
Thank you for your letter of 7th October, 1948, () regarding the potential refugee problem. With regard to your enquiry in the last paragraph I am afraid that we are not yet in a position to report any concrete progress.
What has been done is to appoint the Social Welfare Officer to go into the problem of planning camps for refugees, with all the interested departments, in case the necessity should arise. He is still working on it but has not yet reached a stage where it is possible to report any set plan. However, we have this well in mind and shall inform you in due course of the plans that are made.
Yours ever,
Mhumam.
