That it is entered in the book. Have you any doubt in
your mind that the sum is entered in the book
The doubt arises in my mind that a man may have been
fined, and it not entered by an ogersight.

How would you account for that. Would you find at the 14756
end of six months or a year that the books do not
balance
what do you do ?
I do not check the fines book with the Bank book.
I will put a hypothetical case. An Interpreter has 14-757
done something, and he is fined $10. By some mistake,
it is not entered, but it is collected from him and
paid into the Bank. At the end of six months, you have
$10 more than you ought to have, according to the entries in the misdonduct book. Now, what steps do you
take in checking your books ↑
The local auditor would find out at once, if there was
any difference between my cashbook and the fines book.
Does the misconduct book go to the local auditor ↑ 14758
No, not the book.
14759
Therefore the misconduct book does not go to the auditor, but our fine book does. Does your fine book
agree with the misconduct book ?
As i say, it should agree, and as far as i know it
agrees, and if it does not agree, then the money has
not been entered in the misdonduct book.
