No, before you sign them. Does it ever happen that 14663
the usual printing in a notics such as that which is
checked by Mr Oarter is struck out, or altered, in Mr
Carter's handwriting
Yes, I have seen it done in Mr Carter's handwriting
recently.
But it is sometimes altered, before it is signed by 14664
you ?
Not so much now since these notices were revised.

Just answer the question, please. It is sometimes
altered before it is signed by you?
14665
I should say no at present, except by Mr Carter.

Well, if it is altered after you sign it, it must be a 14666
forgery then .
Put the question a little more clearly please.
It sometides happens that notices are received by
houseowners, in which this printing "make good" in
struck out, and "reconarete" is put in. Is that
altered before you sign it, or after you sign it ?
Always before I sign it. If there is any alteration to
make, it is altered before I sign it.
14667
Bỏ you mean to tell me it has never happened that a
notice which you have aigned has not ben altered after
you have signed it ?
Not to my knowledge.
But it might be, without your knowledge, Mr Woodoook. 14667
You could not remember whether it was altered before
or after you signed it.
The only way would be the difference in writing. If it
was altered by an Inspector, there would be a difference
