I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your confidential despatch of the 28th November forsurding a memorɑndwa of the activities of the Chinese Kuomintang in Hong Kong since the re-occupɛtion. I have been greatly iut-rested in mr. megarry's account of the position which this organization holds in llong Kong.
2. In view of the distaubing situation revealed you will, no doubt, and as soon as possible submit your views on the suggestion put forward in paragraph 18 of Mr. Megarry's memorandum that the Central Goverment of China should be prevailed upon to post to the hesuship of the Kuomintang branch in Hong Kong a person who would work in a proper relation of subordination to the dipicastic representative of the chinese JGVeľ'laudit,
3. I should be glau to know whether you have any other steps to sugądut for the more sflective control of the suomintang in Hong song.
