Hồng Kong - Activities of Kuomintang.

I enclose a copy of a despatch

from Hong Kong giving the Governor's views

on the policy to be adopted towards the

Kuomintang in that Colony. You will have

no doubt seen the copies of our previous

correspondence with the Governor on the

subject, ending with the Secretary of

State's despatch No. 3 of the 28th of

Leut

January, of which a copy has gone to Scott.

I believe that the Foreign Office reference

is F.376/376/10.

We are

My Secretary of State is disposed to

agree with the Governor's views, as set

out in paragraphs 4 and 5 of the despatch,

· as to the attitude to be adopted by the

Hong Kong Government towards the Kuomintang

1 beach in

ů in present circumstances. He is however very

much concerned at the activities and aims

of the Hong Kong Kuomintang and the degree of

its control over the Chinese population in

the Colony, as reported in the enclosures to

the Governor's Confidential despatch of

24th of November, a copy of which was sent to

Scou

Foreign office on the 10th of January, and he

is anxious that effective action should be

taken
