Referring to our letter we write to inform you that we have written instructions, signed documents etc, relating to a Petition by Shum Wai Yau.
We have been advised that in accordance
with his rights Shum vai au has presented unsealed in triplicate his retition to the Secretary of State through His Excellency the Governor of Hong Kong, giving information also that we have been instructed to act for the Fetitioner and asking that communication should be made by the Colonial Office with us.
Before proceeding to take further steps as indicated in our instructions, we should esteem it a favour if our representative might have an interview by appointment at an early date with Miss Ruston, or the appropriate representative of the Colonial Office, when he would bring with him our copy of the Petition.
Our representative would call at the Colonial Office at any time convenient to the official concerned.
