I have been approached by Messrs.

Reid Sharman and Company, Solicitors, who

state that they have been instructed by their

agent in Hong Kong, Da Silva, to make

representations in regard to Shum Wai Yau.

(See paragraph 2 of your telegram No. 351).

In a letter dated 4th October they stated that

they were informed that the Chinese

authorities had applied for the surrender of

SHUM

Sum Wai Yau under Chinese Collaborators

FURTHER ACTION.

been instructed to engage a K. C. and to

request that any action be suspended pending

investigation.
