3. Meanwhile the solicitors here, who have

now asked that "the circumstances should be argued

before the Secretary of State by some eminent K. C.",

are being told that I had already received a full

petition, that the matter is under consideration by

the Governor in Council as the competent authority

under the Ordinance, and that I therefore feel that

no useful purpose would be served by the suggestion

in passage quoted above.

Solicitors are also being

told that the right course is for the petitioner to

continue to make his representations to the Governor

in the Colony.
