To the Editor,
Wah Kiu Yat Po, Hongkong.
Lear Sir
after reading your editorials dated June the 8th
and 9th, I must say something in praise of your work done
during the period of Japanese cocupation.
While I was in the Shumshuipo prisoners-of-war
cump, many copies of your paper managed to get into the
camp through the Formosan aantrios. As I am able to read
Chinese, moat of them were passed to me for trensation.
In fact, since the beginning of 1945, one of my friends in
camp, Mr. Oharjos ray, obtained a copy daily from outside.
The news contained in your paper, were natura11y, came from
Domei, but I found the wordings of them through your skij fu
management, conveyed many reports from the Allied source.
Thus we were able to follow the actual course of the fighting,
though we raŋ risk of doing so. Transmitting the news was a
great pleasure to me but I strongly objected to the advertise-
meat of restaurants' menus which made our mouths water.
I stil can remember the 15th of August last year,
when your paper printed the surrouder newa. It was the first
official confimation wo had though we had heard from our
friends outside for the past five day 8. I hope you wi`?
obige me by sending a copy of that day's paper as souvenir.
