so good as to communicate with the Hong Kong Government at the earliest possible moment in order that official information may be made available in London as to the actual position in the matter at the present time. We must also ask that the Hong Kong Government be requested to suspend orders for the surrender of Shumwa ivau for trial until matters are thoroughly investigated by London. We further request that the result of the enquiry may be communicated to us as soon as possible. If desired, our representative would call at the Colonial Office again to receive the information desired, when available.
