Official statement was published here on 15th September to refute inaccurate statements as to the status of Kowloon city, which have been appearing since 6th September in the local and Canton vernacular newspapers, to the effect that area within the city walls of Kowloon city is subject to Chinese jurisdiction and

that Chinese civil administration will be set up there

in the near future in accordance with Chinese treaty rights.

in Hong Kong allied paper to the effect that Chinese

courts of Justice (corrupt group were to be) established in Kowloon had been denied on 31st July by Hong Kong Government press communique and the matter had apparent ly died down.
