I am pleased to acknowledge the receipt of your questionnaire relative to the Municipal Committee, and I am directed by my committee to submit roplies from this Association as follows:-

The number should not be more than 24 to be selected from the respective communities, domiciled in Singapore.
The various Chambers of Commerce should also be represented.
Elected by the respective communities.
Should be English speaking and free from any political or subversive interests.
Election by bodies or communities.

Those with business acumen or professional •qualifications.

Individuals without sufficient pecunary means or failed to manage their own affairs carefully, and properly or served a term of imprisonment should be unler disability either in regard to taking office as Commissioner or os Elector.

No alteration appears necessary at present.

Any matter which appears to the Committee to rise in connection with any of their recommendations should be left in the hands of a sclected body formed by the committee.
