SECAET-
my dear Holles.
19th March, 1946.
(21) Thank you for your letter 0.0.8.321/6 of the 15th court
about the continuance of military administration in Hong Kong after the 1st April. As I told you by telephone on saturday last, we had no comments on the draft and I see that the telegram has in fact now issued.
In this connection the chiefs of staff may like to see the enclosed copy of a minute which I sent to Mr. Rowan,
((6) the Prime Minister's private secretary, on the 14th March.
~~In view of ur. Attles's decision, which fixes the date of
'resumption of civil government at the lat way next, we sha 11
be proceeding quite soon with the issue of the public announcement mentioned in the penultimate paragraph of my minute of Mr. RowUNA. A copy of the draft of that announcement has been sent to the war office for comment.
