FURTHER ACTION
Thank you for your letter of the 10th May (No.D of POLICY (A.8.)296). As you assume we are notifying the Governor of Hong Kong separately of the command arrangements which have been recently agreed there. We have sent a draft despatch on the subject to Stapleton at the Cabinet Offices for his concurrence. I have asked him to let me know if he agrees with the rigures by telephone and as soon as it has been cleared with him the despatch will go to Hong Kong by fast air mail. We will send you and other Service Departments a copy for information.
