India is negotiating for the retention of 150 I.S.F. Brigade until April, 1947.
3. We propose to exchange 3 Commando Brigade with Army unite in Malta as soon as practicable thereby making availablo two infantry battalions, which together with a field regiment will form the garrison of Hong Kong after April, 1947. You should confirm that you can provide the field rogiment and carmark an infantry brigade as roservo from your own resources.
4. Six L.C.I.(L) now in Hong Kong are leasc-lend craft and must be returned to American authoritics. The six L.C.T's.
are not included in the post-war assault force and maintenance personnel cannot be provided.
