HONG KONG DEFENCE PLAN
TOP SECRET.
1.
ILITARY ACCOA ODATION.
Eo total force to be accomodated (including non-livisional
and administrative units) after relief of present garrison is:

The tactival disposition of an infantry division les one brigade in liong Kong and the Now Territories will necessitate considerable modification of existing barracks and extensive construction of new permanent accomodation in the New Territorios.

During the initial stages approximately 50% of the forco will be accommodated in rcquisitioned buildings because:

Considerable damago has been done to barracks and repairs must be undertaken before troops can be moved in.
Japanese prisoners-of-ar and interncos are occupying two of the main barracks (Stanley and Sham Shui Po).
A large mumber of administrative units will be engaged on rehabilitation of the Colony but will be withdrawn when twir tas: is completed.
Units are split into detachments for purposes of internal security and guarding unoccupied civilian property.
Gumiary of numbers of troops at present accomodated and
