The total forco to to accommodated (including non-divisional and administrative units) after relief of present garrison is:

The tactival disposition o an infantry division less one bride in liong Kong and the New Territories will necessitate considerable Modification of existing barracks and extensive construction of new permanent acvamo..ution in the New Territories.

During the initial stages approximately 50 of the force will be accomodated in requisitioned vilins because:

Considerable damage has been done to barracks and repairs must be undertaken before troops can be moved in.
Japanese prisoners-of-war and internces are occupying two of the main barracks (Stanley and Sham rui Po).
A large number of administrative units will be engaged on rehabilitation of the Colony but will be withdrawm when twir task is completed.
Units are split into dotachents for purposes of internal scority and guarding unoccupied civilian property.
