XILITARY BUILDINGS - IKORG KONG & NEW TERRITORIES.
Below is a bit sumary of the state of the main groups of military nocomodation in the Colony. These notes rufer to the acoonmalation as it existed before the war, and take no account of additional buildings that may be needed owing to improved scales,
HONG KONG ISLUD.

VITORLA BARRACKS: of five barrack blocks, four have been badly hit by babs. Previously two blocks were used as offices, and three as accomodation, but taking it all as camalation, approximately half has been destroyed. Those barracks aru of old design, and tho undanaged parts are in fair condition only. It is doubtful whether it would be worth restoring them to the old design, and Light be nore uconical in the long run to robuild completely, either on the semo site, or elsewhere.

The mariod quarters have all been more or less looted. inuyo blocks lack a roof, and all have had doors, windows, timber floor covering, electric lights, water airply and sanitary fittings removed or broken extensively. All are structurally intact. Imergency repairs ero in hund to malo then habital'o for troops. Other buildings in Victoric Barracks are relatively undanggoā,

C.R.E'S OFFICE BLOCK and R. LESS NEL'S ROAD: Completely gutted by looters. Roof intact, and some structural daingo. Worth repair.

LYE UN BARRACKS: Blocks 1 and 2, for approximately 400 IONS were in very fair condition and have been put into usu. The only major doficiency remining is the parquet flooring. The remaining buildings at Iyoam rre in much the same condition as the married quarters at Victoria Barrocks. "ork is going on to malo as much as possible habitable.
