TADAR APPRECIATION - KONG KONG & NEW TERRITORIES
A tour was mario between 24th and 27th November, 1945, of Fog Kong Island with a view to siting of A.E. S. stations to give alquate coverage for high and low flying aircraft and shipping.
Sites recomended:-

The coverage is giv low flying and shipping coverage. estimated to be all round, with the possibility of one or two narrow gaps. This only bo determined during operation, The approach is good, and accommodation is available within easy reach. Several unoccupied houses are adjacent to the site and when assential repairs are carried out will be highly satisfactory. The nearust house is approximately 100 feet below tiu peak where the approach road ends.

That the peak levelled, to an extent that the height it reduced approximately 15'- 20′ which will then produce a roas ule area for the installation of the Radar equipment. The Radar equipment may be trailer typo, thus audional space is required for manoeuvering of the primo mover.
That a road ba constructed to the peak to permit the Radar vehicle being driven on to the site.
That investigation be made regarding main power supply total requirements 10 KVA - power supply has been installed in the past, and transformer station is located opposite the now defunct hospital.
PING SHAN.
Should be satisfactory without large scale development. angle of coverage is yet to be determined.

There is only one suitablo site in the Kai Tak area to provide GOI facilities, is site is in the area between N. I/S. E. airstrip, R. A.F. W/T transmitting site and the old Japanese The site has been confirmed with flying control building. 0.C., R.A.F. Kai Tak, with one stipulation that the site must not be nearer than 300 feet to the edge of the landing strip. This is satisfactory for the Radar requirements.
