SCALE OF DEFENCE FOR HONG KONG

Note by the Joint Secretaries

The Chiefs of Staff at their meeting on 11th April considered a revised report by the Joint Planning Staff on the Hong Kong Defence Plan.

2. The Chiefs of Staff approved the report by the Joint Planning Staff, as amended in discussion, and invited the Defence of Bases Committee to rocommond à scale of defenco to be provided for Hong Kong to implement our long term policy, taking the revised roport by the Joint Planning Staff into account.

3. The War Office, in consultation as necessary with the Admiralty, have agreed to prepare a draft roport on this matter for the consideration of the Committee.
