Governor of Hong Kong has reported that he has been approached by Butterfield Swire on behalf of Australian Navional Airways who desire to extend. their Australia/ Manila scheduled air servios to Hong Kong and are stated to have applied for Commonwealth Goverment licence for the purpose.

No communication on thie has as yot hoon received from Commonwealth authorition either by ourselves or by Hong Kong authorities.
Oratoful, therefore, if you would ascprtain whether Commonwealth authorities are in favour of such a service being operated by Australian National Airways and, if so, whether they propose to take up matter with us.
3.
Governor and Colonial offies consider that suggested service would be valuable to the communications of the Colony and would be prepared to grant permission for use of Hong Kong airport for traffic purposes:
