ENCLOSURES

art. nox below.

Dear Dunnett,

Please refer to your letter No. R.22458/46| of the 28th of September about the brief which we agreed to prepared for Air Chief Marshal Sir F. Bowhill on the subject of the development of an airfield at Hong Kong.

In

I enclose with this letter four copies of a note which has been prepared here. paragraph 3 of this note we refer to the decision which was taken that there was no longer a current military requirement for a V.H.B. airfield in Hong Kong. We understand that A.M.S.O., during his recent visit to Hong Kong, examined Kai Tak airfield in order to confirm that it was suitable for Service needs, and we would suggest that Air Chief Marshal Sir F. Bowhill might well discuss this point with A.M.9.0. if the latter has returned to the United Kingdom before Bir Frederick leaves,

Yours sincerely,
