That it was not possible to reduce the "channel" requirements
listed in the minutes of the previous meeting.
That for the guidance of the Hong Kong Communications Board
the recommendations of the last meeting re land requirements
should be amplified.
That The Hong Kong Board should be informed that the largest
possible separation between the two sites was necessary,
and that 5 miles separation is considered to be tho
absolute minimum.
4. That:-
(a) The specimen aerial layout sketched by Cables and
Wireless, amended to include aorials for Hiroshima,
would be useful as a guide to the minimum acceptable
arr.ngemont for a Transmitting site.
(3) Another spooinom layout should be drawn as a guide to the
minimum scooptable arrangonont for a Repoiving Site, (Noto-lir. Smalo undertook to amond the original sketch
for 4(a)-above and to prepare the scoond skotoh for 4(b)
abovo).
(c) Copies of both these sketches should be sent, with the
minutes, to the Hong Kong Board emphasising that they
show the minimum acceptable layouts, and that greater
spacing of aeriels is desirable.
5. That, if it became necessary to connect several receivers
to one acrial that wide band amplifiers of the Cathode
follower type would be required.
6. That a signal summarising the above agreements and amplifying
the recommendations re land requirements, on the lines of
Air. Wynne-Jones' suggestion, should be sent inmediately
to the Hong Kong Board
