By a Proclamation of the British Military
Administration in Hongkong, dated Jeptember 13th,1945, it was
dealared that the said notes which were specifically set out
in the First Schedule thereto would not be treated by the
Military Administration as legal tender.
As from to-day, upon the withdrawal of the suid
Proclamation, the Bank wishes to mnounce that in agreement
with the Hongkong Government it will honour and accept as
legal tender in the Colony all the notes bearing the name of The Hongkong à Shanghai Banking Corporation which under the
said Froclamation were specifically referred to as not to
be treated as legal tender.
