An Ordinance to amend the Buildings Ordinance.

Enacted by the Glovemar of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Buildings (Amendment) Short Gde and Ordinance 1980 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed commencement by the Governor by notice in the Gazerre.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by deleting the long title Amendment of and substituting the following-

"To provide for the planning, design and construction of buildings and associated works; to make” provision for the rendering safe of dangerous buildings and land; and to make provision for matters connected therewith..

3. Section 2(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended--

(a) by inserting in the appropriate alphabetical order the following

definitions-

**design assumption" means an assumption stated or implied in the design calculations or other documentation in respect of building works submitted to the Building Authority;
