Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and con- seat of the Legislative Council thereof.

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Water Pollution Control Short the Mad Ordinance 1980 and, subject to section 7, shall come into operation on KON PROVIDING DEECHYLCON. a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. (1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires→ "Appeal Board" means an Appeal Board constituted under Part VI; "Authority" means—

(a) in relation to a water control zone, a public officer appointed

by the Governor under section 4(1)(8) for that zone;

(b) in relation to the powers, functions and duties mentioned in

section 4(3), the Director of Public Works;
