An Ordinance to amend the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance.

(8th June, 1979)

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Landlord and Tenant Shon dde and (Consolidation) (Amendment) Ordinance 1979.

COMINENCCIMEIN.

(2) Sections 20, 21(b)), (e), (d) and (e), 22, 23 and 24 shall come

into operation on 1 July 1984.

() Sections 19 and 21(a) and (b)ii) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 4 May 1979.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting Amendatent of after the definition of "domestic premises" the following-

section 1 (Cup 73

''fair market rent" means the rent. exclusive of rates, at which premises the sublect matter of a tenancy to which this Part applies might reasonably be expected to be let at the date of service of a notice under section 10(1A) on the terms of the tenancy (other than those relating to rent and duration of the Lenancy) but disregarding the effect of this Part:".

3. Section 3(1) of the principal Ordinance'is amended—
