*"judicial office” means—

(d) the office of Chief Justice; and

(5) any judicial office specified in the First Schedule to

the Judicial Service Commission Ordinance;".

Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "Services" and substituting the

following-

"Service"; and

(b) by deleting subsection (5) and substituting the following-

"(5) Whenever-

(a) the Chairman or any member is absent from the

Colony or is unable to act, or

(b) the office of Chairman or of a member is vacant pending a new appointment or reappointmeat,

the Governor may appoint another person to act temporarily as Chairman or a roomber, as the case may be.".

6. Section 6(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended→

(a) by deleting the full stop at the end of paragraph (d) and sub-

stituting a semicolon; and

(b) by inserting after paragraph (d) the following paragraph)---

"(e) any matter affecting the conduct and discipline of public officers on which the Governor is required by Colonial Regulations to consult the Commission.".

7.

The Second Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "Services" wherever it appears and substituting in each place the following-

"Service":

蕊 The Ordinances specified in the Schedule are amended in the manner specified therein.

Every reference in an Ordinance or in any document to the Public Services Commission or to the Public Services Commission Ordinance or to the Public Services Commission Regulations shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be read respectively as a reference to the Public Service Commission or the Public Service Commission Ordinance or the Public Service Commission Regulations
