An Ordinance to amend the Merchant Shipping Ordinance,

[10th January, 1979]

Ensacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Amend- Short Gde. meal) Ordinance 1979.

2 Section 34 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

of $5,000 for each passenger in excess of the number allowed by

the passenger certificale" and substituling the following-

"be liable

(a) on conviction upon indictment to imprisonment for

4 years and to a fine of $10,000 and an additional fine of $5,000 for each passenger in excess of the number allowed by the passenger certificate; and (6) on summary conviction to imprisonment for 2 years

and to a fine of $10,000 and an additional fine of $5,000 for each passenger in excess of the number allowed by the passenger certificate";
