An Ordinance to amend the Pensions Ordinance and to validate certain
pensions, gratuities and other allowances.
[1st December. 1978)
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
This Ordinance may be ciled as the Pensious (Amendment) Svon die. Ordinance 1978.
1. Section 7 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by Repest and the following-

(0) Where an officer's service is terminated because- (a) the pleasure of the Crown that he should no longer
hold office has been duly signified; or

(6) he has been compulsorily retired in exercise of
disciplinary powers of punishment; or
(c) he has been required in the public interest to retire
from the public service,
and a pension, gratuity or other allowance cannot otherwise be granted to him under this Ordinance, the Governor may. if he thinks fit, grant such pansion, gratuity or other allow- ance as he thinks just and proper not exceeding that for
replacement of section 7. (Cop. 59.)
