An Ordinance to amend the Stamp Ordinance and to make consequential amondments to the Stamp Duties Management Ordinance and the Companies Ordinance,

[6th March, 1978)

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Stamp (Amendment) (No. 3) Shont tide sund Ordinance 1978 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the womensmcal 6th March 1978.

Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) by deleting the definition of "conveyance on sale" and substitut. Kap. 1173

"conveyance on sale" means every instrument, and every decree or order of any court, whereby any immovable property, upon the sale thereof, is transferred to or vested in a purchaser, or any other person on his behall or by his direction;*;

(b) by deleting the definitions of "bank note", "banker", "bill of exchange", "cheque", "exchange contract", "exchange contract cancellation note", "elter of hypothecation", "money changer"", "mortgage", "partnership instrument", "policy of insurance" "power of allomey", "promissory note", "servant's security agreement", "settlement" and "vessel".
