An Ordinance to amend the Rating Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be ciled as the Rating (AmendmenQ Ordin- Short ditka ance 1977 and shall be decined to have come inlă operation on the lat sad April 1977.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 18 Addition_ the following new section—

19. (1) Notwithstanding section 18, the rates payable in respect of any tenement or part thereof included in a valuation list in force on the blat March 1977 shall be reduced so that-

(0) the rates payable for the year commencing on the 1st April 1977 shall not exceed by 33.33 per cent the rates payable for the year commencing on the 1st April 1976 determined in accordance with section 18 by reference to the rateable value in force on the 31st March 1977;
