An Ordinance to amend the Legal Practitioners Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Legal Practitioners (Amend Stor dile. ment) Ordinance 1977.
1. The principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after section 7 Addigon of the following new section—

7A, (1) For the purpose of administering and receiving an oath, affidavit or affirmation any solicitor who is in practice in Hong Kong and who holds a current practising Certificate shall possess and may exercise all the powers of a commissioner for oaths that are conferred by or under any

(2) A document containing an oath, affidavit or affirma- tion administered and received under subsection (I) and purporting to be signed by a solicitor shall be admitted in evidence without proof of the signature of the solicitor, and without proof that he is a solicitor who is in practice in Hong Kong of that be holds a current practising certificate.",
