Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

J. This Ordinance may be cited as the Arbitration (Amendment) Shool He Ordinance 1975 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by and comIAN CO- the Governor by notice in the Gazerte.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

Amendment of Method 2.

(a) by deleting the definition “arbitration agreement" and substituting 1975 € 1.

"

arbitration agreement” means an agreement in writing (in- cluding an agreement contained in an exchange of letters or telegrams) to submit to arbitration present or future differences capable of settlement by arbitration whether an arbitrator is named therein or not;";

(5) by adding after the definition "arbitration agreement" the follow-

ing new definition-

"Convention award" micans an award to which Part IV applies, namely, so award made in pursuance of an arbi- tralion agreement in a State or territory, other than Hong Kong, which is a party to the New York Convention;"; and
